Collection: Christopher La Fleur
I am an internationally collected fine artist, with clients on three continents and an annual production rate of more than 175 works a year. My work has been published more than a dozen times, being called some of the “most exciting and original contemporary art being made right now”.
I firmly believe there is no project too big or small for my creativity. I believe the purpose of artmaking is to advance human consciousness and break down barriers.
I employ highly experimental techniques and a volatile, expressive methodology. Owners and collectors find new and interesting dialogues every time they view their piece and often comment on the transient nature of the forms, colors, and textures.
Beyond the act of creating art objects, I firmly believe the purpose of art is to provoke, challenge, and question. Artmaking is a fundamental biological imperative, the result of which is no less than the advancement of human consciousness. My method is rigorous, disciplined, and philosophically inclined.
Artists are uniquely positioned to address, through the artmaking process, the most important moral and ethical dilemmas of our time. I begin every project with a thesis or dialectic which underpins the work and examines the origin and impact of it. This critical first step in the creation of work is called IDIOGENESIS. The idiogenetic phase of any work takes as long as it must. Subsequent steps in the process include digital visualization, sketches, and revision. When I am satisfied with the execution of a concept, I begin the process of creating finished work.
For this reason, in order to create powerful, high-quality works of art, I welcome your commission inquiries but do not work on deadline and am only accepting new clients on a case-by-case basis.
