Collection: Us Exhibition | 4th Annual

) LGBTQ+ artists have been, and always will be, active in the art world but are often underrepresented in galleries and exhibits. Bitfactory Gallery aims to bring attention and awareness to marginalized groups of artists and demonstrate the universal nature of art while fostering inclusion across communities. As such, Bitfactory is hosting its 4th Annual Us Exhibition to kick-off the week leading up to Denver’s 2023 PrideFest. This year’s show will feature work by, Christopher La Fleur and Raven Rohrig, both members of the LGBTQ+ community.

All are welcome to attend the Opening Reception at 851 Santa Fe Drive on Friday, June 16, 6-9 pm, the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, July 7, 6-9 pm, and to visit during regular gallery hours Tuesday–Saturday, 11:00–4 pm and by appointment, for the run of the show. Art may also be purchased online at www.bitfactory.net.

Christopher La Fleur (he/him) is a “queertrepreneur”, cultural event planner and visual fine artist living and working in Denver.

His work has been published locally, nationally and internationally and he has participated in more than 20 different exhibitions and solo shows. Influenced by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Drew Struzan, Winslow Homer and Takashi Murakami, he works in a variety of visual styles across disciplines and media. Beyond the act of creating art objects, he firmly believes the purpose of art is to provoke, challenge, and question, and that artmaking is a fundamental biological imperative, the result of which is no less than the advancement of human consciousness. His method is rigorous, disciplined, and philosophically inclined. La Fleur was recently chosen to represent Jones Soda Co. and his work can be found on soda bottles nationwide.

Raven Rohrig (she/her) is a contemporary artist in the Denver Metro LQBTQ community whose primary art forms include figurative ink illustration, and mixed media portraits. Her art explores sexuality and identity, and centers around body-inclusive, gender-inclusive, pleasure-positive, kink-positive, and LQBTQ experiences. In a society that values endless individual sacrifice to the extent of the loss of self, Rohrig’s artwork encourages exploration of identity, living authentically, and pursuing pleasure as acts of unapologetic self-care. Her pieces challenge viewers to explore and honor their own deepest expressions of self and pleasure, and her work provides an opportunity for folks to surround themselves with art through which they feel seen and uplifted. Often influenced by her life's moments, Raven's art is ever evolving. Her practice currently centers two contemporary bodies of work: "Intrinsic Illustrations," and "The Wisdom of Women,"
