In literary terms, to “kill your darlings” means to cut out elements of a story that an author is persistently attached to, but that continue to cause problems with the rest of the narrative and must be removed for the sake of the overall story. Artist Dan Drossman relates deeply to this phrase in not only his life but also his artwork. For Drossman’s Solo Exhibition Killing Your Darlings at Bitfactory Gallery his process includes confronting his favorite parts of a work in various ways to ultimately create a more successful work of art. The exhibition is on view during regular business hours—with the exception of Nov 23^rd and 24^th for Thanksgiving—from November 17 through December 12, 2023 including the First Friday Art Walk on December 1, 2023, 6 to 9 p.m. The public is invited to the Opening Reception held on November 17 from 6 to 9 pm at the gallery, 851 Santa Fe Drive
