Collection: Mettle Martyr Exhibition
Mettle Martyr
March 19 – Apr 8, 2021
Bitfactory Gallery presents Mettle Martyr a solo exhibition featuring works by A.L. Lummus running March 19 through Apr 8, 2021. In this show, Lummus wraps her social commentary about society's worship of female self-sacrifice in bright, frivolous images that harken to the late-50’s and early sixties as a means to help her message be more palatable and accessible. She uses mixed media 2d works as well as installation and a short film to create a small, sardonic celebration of the "ultimate American feminine." The public is invited to an opening reception at the gallery, 815 Santa Fe Drive, on Friday, March 19 from 6-9 pm and during regular hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., and by appointment. Masks are required to enter the gallery at all times.
