Collection: Workshop Exhibition
Bitfactory Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of abstract expressionist works created by workshop participants, led by renowned local artist Tadashi Hayakawa. Hayakawa started his workshops to inspire emerging and other professional artists, to learn from and support each other and, for those who are ready, connect them to galleries. His is an informal and self-motivated open studio where students break away from formal art instruction and develop critical art appreciation while creating enthusiasm and energy for art expression. Given Bitfactory’s mission to showcase emerging artists, curator Bill Thomason was happy to provide his space for this show and help them directly experience the steps involved with showing their work—communicating directly with him as the gallerist, curator, etc. The exhibition features paintings by Vicki Christensen, Ru Ciel, Ann-Charlott Denslow, Curt Fowler, Pam Hake, James Keo, Susan Merriman, Ulla Meyer, Lea Sisson, Rachel Turelli, Karen Valliant and Marie Vaughn.
