Your Memories Are Not Invited
Vincent Cheap & Jason Cope
Pop-up Exhibition
at Bitfactory Gallery
September 5 – September 13, 2025
Bitfactory Gallery presents artists Vincent Cheap & Jason Cope in the pop-up exhibition, Your Memories Are Not Invited, Sept 5 – Sept 13, 2025. Through a combination of found object art, assemblage art, acrylic painting and mixed media the two observe and reflect on the human condition, past experiences, life challenges and restoration. The artists use color, bold elements, vivid details and bits of levity to draw the viewer into a narrative. The show opens on Sept 5, 6-9 p.m. during the First Friday Art Walk on Santa Fe Drive and is on view during regular business hours through Sept 13, 2025.
Vincent Cheap, a multimedia artist, is motivated by the story of the every-person by observing the human condition. The stories in Cheap’s art are illustrated and painted in a bright but serious imaginary world. Cheap stresses that the stories are not about him but rather are about the viewer. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, Cheap’s work is inspired by years of working in music venues, record stores, and being involved in the Front Range music scene in his earlier years.
Jason Cope creates artificial nature scenes to express the fact that life is just a series of challenges and hardships that can be overcome. Cope incorporates found objects and everyday discarded items into his paintings, to convey the feeling of restoration—the idea that anything or anyone can find a new purpose in life. Through the creation of the pieces for this exhibition, Cope’s goal was to reflect on progress and the feeling of forward motion in order move on from past experiences that remain unforgiven.
